Solution

Revolve Softech implemented a strategy for the customer to effectively engage with potential students through their online platform and email communications.   • As the first step in the project, Salesforce Education Cloud (SFEC) was integrated into Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) using the native connector.
  • Established user accounts and defined roles and permissions, while also integrating them into corresponding user accounts in the Salesforce Education Cloud (SFEC) (API User included).
  • Setting up sender profile, delivery profile, Reply Mail Management, and send classifications.

  • Set up a dedicated sending IP for the Marketing Cloud for the process of IP Warming.

Remember the Add-Ons

You may come across some features that are available with a standard license, but also have extended functionality for an additional cost with an add-on license. For example, Einstein Activity Capture Standard is available to Sales Cloud customers with Enterprise Edition and above, but the extended version requires a license for Sales Cloud Einstein, Inbox, or High Velocity Sales.

The standard add-on features are definitely worth your time, as there’s only an extra cost if you want the full feature set. The Where section at the top of the feature description tells you which licenses you need.

Save These Dates: Summer ’23 Sandbox Preview

The sun is gleaming down on the land of Salesforce and so, the Summer ’23 Salesforce Release sandbox preview window is around the corner. Note the dates now so your organization is prepared for the upgrade. According to the rolling 12-month release calendar, Salesforce will upgrade your production instance to the Summer ’23 release. Enter your instance name or domain and click the maintenance tab to view your upgrade date. The next thing you should know is when your sandbox will be upgraded to Summer ’23, as this will be your first opportunity to try out your configurations on the new release. Let’s go over the dates you’ll need to be aware of.

April 13: Sign up for a prerelease environment

Why do you need a prerelease organisation? It is a test environment with new release features enabled, giving you plenty of time to test and determine which ones are appropriate for your organisation. You can log back into your Spring ’23 prerelease org if you already had one. If you’re not sure what features to implement, participate in the Trailblazer Community Treasure Hunt to see what others in the community are excited about.

April 26: Preview release notes are available

Now is the time to read through the release notes. Filters can be used to display only the sections that are relevant to the edition and clouds you are currently using.

May 4: Sandbox cut-off date

Before the scheduled production upgrade, use your sandbox to gain early access to new features and test configurations. To get the Summer ’23 preview in your sandbox, you must have an active sandbox preview instance before May 4. In most cases, nothing needs to be done because your sandbox is already running on a preview instance. The sandbox preview instructions article on Salesforce Help has all the information you need.

May 5: Sandboxes upgraded

If you chose to use sandbox preview, your sandboxes will be upgraded to Summer ’23 this weekend. The sandbox preview, like the prerelease programme, allows you to test new features without affecting your live environment. The 12 sandbox preview, on the other hand, provides the ability to test new features in a configuration similar to your.

May 15: Summer ’23 Release site is live

Salesforce understand that everyone processes release information differently. As a result, the Trailhead Release Highlights module is a quick and easy way to learn about features. To make the process as simple as possible, Salesforce provide demo videos, Trailhead modules, community forums, and other resources.

May 19: First release weekend

Salesforce and a small number of customers are upgraded during the first release weekend. You’ve probably already identified your key features at this point. If you’re ready to upgrade, the Release Readiness Trailblazers group will have all the content you need to educate your organization’s users on the new features you intend to implement.

May 19 to 26: Release Readiness Live

Salesforce admin and developer evangelists introduce their favourite features in the Summer ’23 release. The product management team will then discuss and demonstrate the new features. June 2: Second release weekend

During the June 2 weekend, another set of instances is upgraded. If you have any questions, Salesforce Trust page has the most recent information on the upgrade’s timing. And, because the upgrade takes only five minutes, it should have no effect on your operations or uptime.

June 9: Final release weekend

On June 9, all remaining Salesforce instances will be upgraded. If you previously chose not to have your organizations included in the sandbox preview, they will be upgraded this weekend.

Marketing cloud but the integration of salesforce clouds to have all the data consolidated on a single platform. The data flow between systems was very important to ensure that everything run in a flow. The customer was having a blacklisting issue, so they were not able to send emails we resolved their issue and enabled SAP and Client wanted us to ensure that the moment a contact has this field set to TRUE the corresponding record gets deleted from SFMC

Solution:

The implementation of the solution was divided into various phases keeping the multi-cloud implementation approach in mind. Once all the service implementations were completed a single BU setup for the Marketing cloud with integration to the Service cloud was done to ensure that all the important information from the Service cloud flows to the Marketing Cloud to plan the campaign execution and to update everything on CRM as well. An Integration from the Marketing Cloud to the Service cloud ensured that the Data go to SF and then to MC, initially the data will update into SF later through the Data source (Synchronized Data extension) the data comes to MC. An automation in SFMC that brings Email Opt-out values from CRM and updates in SFMC all subscriber lists.

It creates a new contact in SF whenever a new record is created through a form.

After filling form initially, it checks whether this contact already exists or not if it exists it will update the Daily and Weekly Preference of that record, or if that record is new, it will create it on CRM.

It also checks whether the email id contains @xyz.edu or not if you check YES, it will only accept the domain @xyz.edu emails and if you check NO it accepts all domain emails.

There are two checkboxes (Daily and Weekly) if that contact already exists it will update the Daily and Weekly Preference or if that contact does not exist it will create a new record with daily, and weekly Preference. It also updates the same on the MC preference field.

Results:

The integration of marketing cloud connect ensures data integration from the sales cloud to the marketing cloud is secure and authenticated and can plan the campaigns & Journey basis on the latest student interactions. We provided all support and documentation to the university with all our best practices on the MC, so that it is easily understandable to the customer as promised.

A pre-eminent college for the study of music in North America, where students can experience the diversity of music through an interdisciplinary curriculum. They were using Marketo to manage their emails and wanted to migrate to Salesforce Marketing Cloud so that they can integrate with numerous external sources and import their data and wanted data management in a way wherein they could handle large and complex data to run more targeted campaigns which were not possible through Marketo.

The client needed a partner who could integrate their Salesforce CRM platform with the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform and ensure that they could use transactional data to personalize emails and send targeted communication. They wanted to manage their large complicated data as they were facing issues while storing data in Marketo, where the data is stored in one master table. They also wanted that in the future, anyone in their team wanted easy access to HTML/CSS for emails or Landing pages they can access it which was not easy with Marketo. They required a developer who could work on designing, executing, testing, and analyzing emails. After having everything in one place, leveraging the feature of IP warming they wanted to achieve maximum deliverability of their emails to avoid bounced data. 

Solution

Revolve Softech provided them with a comprehensive solution and a dedicated developer as a point of contact.   

  • Initially, Salesforce CRM was integrated with Marketing Cloud using Marketing Cloud Connect (a native connector).   
  • Then worked on designing the templates at the Parent Business Unit level using HTML, CSS, and drag n drop interface to share them across another business unit to create template-based emails. That helped their team to understand the interface way easier. 
  • Then tested the emails on Litmus (an email testing tool with more than 100 email clients including Mobile clients, Web-based email clients, Outlook, Cross browsers, etc. We can test the emails in Litmus using HTML code and also validate the web pages).   
  • Amp script (Marketing Cloud’s proprietary scripting language) was used to add some personalization and advanced dynamic content in emails.   
  • In Addition, the developer configured their subscription page, and manage preferences using the cloud page.   
  • Finally, IP warming was done to improve the sender’s reputation and improve email deliverability.    

More than 200 emails were configured and tested using Litmus. 

Results  

  • Integration of Salesforce CRM to SFMC ensured any business update in a CRM triggered an email interaction or a series of emails.   
  • Configuring content blocks, footers, and templates at the parent business level will help them in the future to re-use the same code in child business units.   
  • Creating and testing emails using Marketing Cloud helped in improving email deliverability.  
  • IP warming helped to improve their bounce rate, and increase open rate and click rate.
